Start at the top of your shoulder where the jacket seam would sit. Measure down along the outside of your arm to the wrist bone. A well-fitted suit sleeve typically ends just above the wrist bone so a small amount of shirt cuff shows.
Suit jacket sleeves should usually end around 0.25 to 0.5 inches above the base of your thumb. This allows about a quarter to half an inch of dress shirt cuff to remain visible for a balanced, tailored appearance.
Height helps estimate your arm proportions, while build type and fit preference fine-tune the recommendation. Slimmer cuts often look better slightly shorter, while classic and relaxed fits can handle a bit more sleeve length.
